Days as a Newlywed: -6 Days
Okay, so I'm not officially a Newlywed, but you have to start somewhere, right?
My fiance Chad and I have been together for what seems like forever. We were friends in middle school, an on-again-off-again romance in high school, and have been dating exclusively for over four years now. Finally, in less than a week, we will be married and live happily ever after...
Yeah...that's going to happen. Like everything that's already wrong in our relationship is going to magically disappear once we say, "I Do." I'm not naive. Maybe a little bit of a hopeless romantic, but definitely not naive. We're sleeping on a mattress on the floor now, and we'll be sleeping on a mattress on the floor next week when we get back from the honeymoon. We are having to be "very creative" with our dinners each night (read "toss it in a pot and hope it is food"), and our pantry won't magically fill with the best of all culinary ingredients next week.
It's going to be hard, and it's going to drive me completely insane. But I love him, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make this work with him. And I also look forward to sharing our first few years as a couple with all of you.
